(Defences) When a ruler or a king dreams of a trench, such trench denotes wealth, or one’s men, but if the trench is seen by a scholar, it depicts the scholar’s advisers, or his very close followers who support his teachings. If the trench is seen in relation to one’s wife, it stands for the wife’s father or her guardian. Where it relates to one’s son, the trench indicates the son’s parents. If a person dreams that he sees a city that has no trench or a castle for its defence; this dream warns that the seer has not been up and doing in payments of charities or alms, or that he is spending money on valueless ventures, he is in danger of losing knowledge, and it could be a warning that an evil will spread in the city or that it under attack by enemies.
